Trade and Regulatory Capacity Building Division (TRCBD) administers projects that increase U.S. trading partners´ understanding and implementation of science-based obligations under the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS). Through technical assistance, regulatory reform, targeted short-term training, and strategic partnerships, TRCBD projects strengthen the rules-based trading system and reduce the risk that U.S. agricultural exports will be subject to arbitrary detention or denial of entry.
