Climate and Environment:

This collaboration would involve climate-smart agriculture, forestry, and ranching initiatives with global interest and impact; mutually beneficial research and development of outputs such as resources, tools, trainings, and events on climate-smart topics that could result in practical and scalable application of that research to international users and audiences; and technical, programmatic, human capital, and administrative support for these endeavors.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as part of its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, is seeking proposals from the small businesses to develop novel environmental technologies in the following topics areas. See the official solicitation posted on FedConnect to learn more about the topic areas and view full topic descriptions for each area. Given EPA’s modest budget we ask that proposals be responsive to these topics.

Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking additional applications from eligible public and private nonprofit entities to assist current or prospective EPA grant recipients more effectively address their grant progress and performance requirements of their EPA-funded grant agreements.



Transportation and Infrastructure:

The following emissions-reducing project categories are eligible under this grant round: 1) Replacement or repower of on-road heavy-duty diesel vehicles and select non-road diesel equipment; 2) Electrification of on-road heavy duty diesel vehicles or non-road diesel equipment; and 3) Purchase or lease of new, near-zero or zero emission on-road heavy-duty vehicles or non-road equipment.

The Seaport and Rail Yard Areas Emissions Reduction Program (SPRY) provides grants for upgrading or replacing older drayage and container handling equipment.

The purpose of this Cooperative Agreement is to support the identification of introduced and amended state traffic safety laws and research into trends in state laws related to traffic safety. In addition, the recipient will develop informational briefs and other impartial educational and training materials related to the state laws involving legislative trends and shifts in state laws that may affect traffic safety.

The Drinking Water Infrastructure Grants Tribal Set Aside is a longstanding program funded from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund that provides direct EPA support for Tribal water infrastructure improvements.

Grant funds for this program are for small agricultural businesses that have been financially impacted by severe drought and/or flooding in the State of California and will be disbursed in the following group for awards of up to $100,000.



Agriculture and Nutrition:

The focus of this RFP is to help growers transition away from non-selective, biologically disruptive pesticides, especially those of high regulatory concern. The BIFS program supports the demonstration, refinement, and outreach of SPM-based farming systems that are economically viable and protective of human health and the environment.

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service invites State agencies that administer the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) to apply for Direct Certification Improvement Grants to fund the costs of improving their direct certification rates with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and other assistance programs, as allowed under Federal statute and regulations.



Housing:

The HPG program is a grant program which provides qualified public agencies, private nonprofit organizations, which may include but not be limited to, Faith-Based and Community Organizations, and other eligible entities grant funds to assist very low- and low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas. In addition, the HPG program assists rental property owners and cooperative housing complexes in repairing and rehabilitating their units if they agree to make such units available to low- and very low-income persons.

Grant funds may be used to develop, maintain, and operate affordable housing in safe and healthy environments on Indian reservations and in other Indian areas and carry out other affordable housing activities.



Forecasted Opportunities:

The potential funding will drive innovations in low-cost electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing, using inexpensive and abundant battery materials in support of a viable domestic materials supply chain, and conducting smart-charge management demonstrations.

The purpose of this program is to protect critical agricultural lands, to support infill & compact development, and to avoid increases in the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses.

The purpose of this grant program is to build community colleges’ capacity to meet the skill development needs of employers and equitably support students in obtaining good jobs in in-demand industries.

The California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine (CIAPM) will award approximately $4 million total to community organizations, academic centers, and others over a 5-year term to recruit and retain underrepresented communities in biomedical research, advance the science of community partnerships, and boost underrepresented researchers engaging with databases.
